Annotation
The effectiveness of the extruded pea grains as a ration part of pigs on grazing and fattening
and its influence on animal productivity has been researched. The internal organs and
physicochemical indices of muscle tissue compared with sunflower oilcakes were studied.
It was established that the additional introduction of extruded peas to the ration of pigs on
grazing and fattening provides an equivalent assimilation of nutrients of feed and their energy, it is
determined by the higher level of pigs productivity of compared with the control group.
The average daily increments in pigs live weight of the experimental group were 536 grams,
the costs per kilogram of increment of feed units and exchange energy were larger by 3.7% and
3.5% than in control one. Because of the higher content of lysine by 16.6%, in the experimental
group pigs' diet the consumption of digestible protein decreased by 3.3% and amounted to 497 g
against 514 g per kilogram of growth of live weight of pigs.
The results of the slaughter of experimental animals showed that pigs fed extruded peas did
not have significant differences in slaughter rates and the weight of the internal organs.
The research results of the longest muscle of the experimental pigs on physical and
technological properties did not reveal any significant difference between the groups. Feeding
extruded peas to pigs does not affect the pH of meat, this figure in all carcasses was within the
normal range and was 5.54 - 5.67 units of pH. According to the indexes of active acidity, samples of
the longest muscle in all animals met the requirements for NOR meat fluctuated within the groups
by 0.13 units.
Keywords: piglets, extruded peas, feeding, productivity, slaughter indicators, quality of pork
