FORMATION OF THE BREEDING HERD OF THE NEW POPULATION SIMMENTAL BREED IN BUKOVYNA REGION

The measurements of the main parts of the body structure are presented in the article, the exterior of adult and first calving cows and their indices according to the linear accessory, as well as the regularities of uniform change in weight and linear parameters of heifers in the age dynamics have been analyzed, the reproductive ability has been determined, the maternal qualities and economic efficiency of a newly created Bukovyna zonal type of the Simmental breed of cattle of a new population in the conditions of the Bukovyna region have been studied.
The obtained data will allow to predict the genetic potential in the herds of the Bukovyna zonal type of meat-based Simmental breed that is being formed. The methods of formation of breeding herds of the meat-based Simmental breed of cattle with the genetic productivity potential of 950-1000 g of daily gain for the full cycle of growing on the farms of Chernivtsi region are described.
It is proved that the live weight of the new generation cows of the Bukovyna zonal type of meat-based Simmental breed of cattle breeding on the farms of Bukovyna region is on average 530 kg, that is fluctuating between 475-491 kg (I calving), 531-543 (II calving) and 557-579 kg (ІІІ calving). It has been determined that the repair heifers of meat-based Simmental breed of cattle of the state experimental farm “Chernivetske” had the largest live weight under the fruitful insemination – 405 kg, which was by 13.5 kg more than their peers of Ltd “Kolosok-2” – 391.4 kg.
